(Senior) Director of Business Development (California)
Summary/Objective
· The (Senior) Director of Business Development will successfully prospect and sell solutions and services via a consultative selling approach within assigned global bio pharm/CRO clients. The (Senior) Director of Business Development will also coordinate with leaders and SME’s across the organization to create compelling and goal-driven solutions for clients and prospects and ensure tactical and strategic company goals are achieved.
Essential Functions
· The (Senior) Director of Business Development will develop account strategies for assigned accounts and prepare client presentations to the standards of the company. The (Senior) Director of Business Development will engage with clients face-to-face. The director of business development will also analyze our competitor’s strengths and weaknesses and work within a vigorous metrics-driven environment.

· Collaborate with team members to complete daily tasks while supporting the BD team and overseeing all projects to ensure client satisfaction.
· Initiate sales process by conducting and scheduling appointments with warm leads; conduct initial consultation; describe PCS services.
· Manage the referral-based lead generation process, working with existing clients to identify potential referrals
· Detailed knowledge and experience in case report form design, central laboratories, programming databases, query resolution, data validation.
· Advanced knowledge of clinical database design is a must. RAVE experience preferred.
· Knowledge of FDA/ICH guidelines and industry standard practices regarding programming.
· Knowledge of SQL and SAS programming.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
· Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
· Team lead experience and ability to manage groups of data managers to ensure timely completion of clinical studies.
· High degree of enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility.
· Adapt to work with highly accurate, high attention to details, and strict quality control.
· Ability to work in cross-functional team setting as well as independently.
· Ability to multitask and balance several ongoing projects

· The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Position type and expected hours of work
Full-Time – 40+ hours per week- contract
Travel
· Ability to travel to satellite sites and/or off-site locations for events or training as needed.
· Ability to travel to meet clients
· Proof of liability and property damage insurance on the vehicle used is required.
Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer science or relevant scientific discipline.
· At least five years of clinical programming experience in a pharmaceutical/CRO or clinical research setting.
Preferred Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer science or relevant scientific discipline.
